Popular belief has always said that King Tutankhamun of Egypt's 18th Dynasty died from a blow to the head--murder.
Scientists recently determined that the Boy Pharaoh died from gangrene after breaking his leg.
Most Egyptologists say that the treasure discovered by Howard Carter in 1922 when he found King Tutankhamun's tomb was a paltry one compared to treasures robbed from other pharaohs' tombs over the years. However, King Tut's tomb was the first tomb discovered that was virtually undisturbed. That, coupled with the fact that Tutankhamun ruled as an adolescent, made him one of the most famous pharaohs studied by scientists, archaeologists, historians, and school children.
